Overview
It feels good to be a Scrambler at Ducati. Not only is it the new darling of fashion and customers, but it is appreciated in all sorts of preparations and variations. And here is a particularly special one that pays homage to one of the most talented riders in history: Mike Hailwood.
The red and green color scheme inevitably recalls his competition machine. Within the trellis frame, the 800 twin does not change in the slightest and simply remains irresistible, not at all racing. Around it, the Scrambler has received quite a few parts to refine its style, its appeal, and justify its price. Symbolic of an era, a 1970s-style fork head surrounds the headlight to face speed. Then, the choice of parts is legitimate. The 800 Scrambler Hailwood gains a near-flat handlebar, grips borrowed from the Superbike range, anodized black Ducati Performance mirrors with aluminum stems, an Öhlins shock absorber, a pair of Termignoni exhausts, the posthumous signature of the nine-time world champion on the front mudguard, and a specific rear fairing transforming the Scrambler into a sly, single-seat machine. A small aluminum plate placed on said fairing brings its touch of authentication and the very special character of this series limited to 58 copies.
Ambiguous, this series is the fruit of the creativity of Ducati Asia. The slight problem for those who would be tempted to acquire this tribute is its availability: rare, and only marketed in Thailand.
