Overview

So, a Ducati costing nearly fifteen thousand euros that delivers only 73 horsepower? At first glance, the equation seems crazy, especially when you know that with this budget, you can afford much more aggressive roadsters. But here's the thing, the Scrambler 10° Anniversario Rizoma Edition is not like other machines. It celebrates a decade of Bologna’s most relaxed range by enlisting the services of Italian jeweler Rizoma, and the result is an assumed style exercise, on the border between motorcycle and collector's item.

Ducati Scrambler 800 10° Anniversario Rizoma Edition

From the first glance, the work is striking. The base is that famous Scrambler silhouette, recognizable among a thousand, but here dressed in a pearlescent black robe enhanced with touches of metallic rose. The real spectacle begins with the accessories. Mirrors, handlebar knob, footrests, radiator covers… Almost everything that can be machined from solid aluminum has been, displaying Rizoma’s signature “MetalRose” finish. It’s flashy, precious, and resolutely Instagrammable. We are clearly in the motorcycle-jewelry register, delivered with a coordinated Araï helmet and numbered in 500 copies. For the pure mechanical enthusiast, this could border on superfluous. For those who see the motorcycle as an extension of their style, it’s a unique proposition.

But don't be fooled, beneath this luxury makeup still beats the heart of the old 803 cc L-twin, air-cooled. Its 73 hp at 8250 rpm and its torque of 65.7 Nm won’t shake the chronometers, but they constitute the soul of this Scrambler. This engine is a real pleasure of flexibility and character, incredibly lively and suited to relaxed riding. The chassis, with its steel frame, 41 mm inverted fork and single shock absorber, remains agile and compliant, displaying a wet weight of 176 kg perfectly manageable. The technology is there, discreet but effective, with its riding modes, Cornering ABS and traction control, all controllable from a 4.3-inch color TFT screen.

Ducati Scrambler 800 10° Anniversario Rizoma Edition

So, for whom? Certainly not for the track rider seeking performance or for the touring rider who counts the kilometers. This Rizoma edition is aimed at the aesthetic Ducatist, the one for whom emotion also passes through the possession of a rare and beautifully finished object. It’s a motorcycle for beautiful urban rides or Sunday outings where you take the time to be noticed. At this price, you indeed enter the territory of the Monster SP or the KTM 990 Duke, much wilder beasts on paper. But the Rizoma Scrambler doesn’t play in that league. It bets everything on visceral emotion, the simple pleasure of riding a machine with authentic character, and on a capital of sympathy and exclusivity that few competitors can match. It’s a crush, reasoned or not, but undeniably Italian.
