Overview
When Bologna decides to elevate an already well-established range, the result sometimes takes the form of a suffix. "Pro," in Ducati's vocabulary, does not mean circuit or competition professionals. On the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro, the word denotes rather a refined version, focused on the details that make the difference between a nice draft and a finished product.

The first glance is drawn to the rear end. Where the base version drags a cumbersome license plate holder, the 1100 Pro opts for a solution borrowed from the 800 of the same clan: the license plate migrates to the swingarm, freeing up a clean, almost minimalist rear. The stacked exhausts on the right side complete the transformation. It's not a fundamental revolution, but the visual effect is noticeably more consistent with the displayed ambition. Black anodization invades the fork tubes, the rear frame and the fender brackets, while the tank features a color called "Ocean Drive," a shade that contrasts with the rest of the dark trim. All for 13,590 euros, a ticket price that positions this Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro against machines like the Triumph Scrambler 1200 or the BMW R nineT Urban G/S.
Under this refined facelift, the old 90-degree L-twin of 1079 cm3 continues its journey. Two valves per cylinder, a compression ratio of 11:1, a bore of 98 mm for a stroke of 71 mm. This engine does not have the modernity of a four-valve engine, and that is precisely why it has supporters. It delivers 86 horsepower at 7500 rpm and, above all, 88.3 Nm of torque at 4750 rpm. This torque is the sledgehammer argument against the little brother 800: more than 30% additional twist, available low in the rev range, where you really ride. Ducati managed to homologate this Euro5 assembly without amputating the power curve, which was not a foregone conclusion.
On the chassis side, the steel trellis frame receives an adjustable 45 mm inverted fork in compression, rebound and preload. The Kayaba rear shock offers the same adjustment possibilities. The 206 kg fully fueled remains within the standard of the segment, and the 810 mm seat is an acceptable compromise for a rider of average height. The Brembo 320 mm braking system at the front, with radial four-piston calipers, is up to the brand's standards. Cornering ABS monitors engaged trajectories. Three riding modes (Active, Journey, City) and a four-level traction control complete the electronic arsenal, all displayed on a legible and well-designed double LCD screen. A USB socket under the seat recalls that it is indeed 2021.
The 2021 Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro is aimed at a rider who has moved beyond the poser scrambler stage and wants something more substantial, without switching to track-day culture. It is a motorcycle for a relaxed globetrotter, an enthusiast of small roads and authentic mechanical sensations, who accepts to pay the premium price without necessarily seeking maximum performance. The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro technical specifications are solid, the positioning is consistent. What is perhaps lacking is a little boldness in mechanical developments, the Pro remaining fundamentally identical to the base beneath its refined attire. But in Bologna, they have long understood that a good recipe is improved by small touches.
