Overview
40 years since the GS first put its wheels down in a segment that has become essential. The large trail bike, touring trail bike, maxi-trail... It all started with the R 80 G/S. It is the mid-size GS models in the range that will champion the homage to its 4 decades, the 750 leading the way.
In addition to the minor evolutions that the F 750 GS has, we discover a black color scheme with shades of grey, accented with a few patches of sunny ochre. This very agricultural yellow takes us back to the 1980s, when BMW set the tone on these GS models and boldly on the K1s.
This special “40 Years GS Edition” decoration does not lack presence. Especially with the matching handguards. Beneath, we are entitled to a certain dose of additional bonuses. The 'Comfort', 'Touring', 'Connected' and 'Dynamic' packs are installed to be up to the level of the homage. As a result, the onboard equipment takes a leap: quickshifter, Pro Riding Modes, GPS pre-equipment, center stand, intelligent emergency call, alarm, tire pressure monitoring, heated grips, ESA Dynamic electronic suspension, luggage supports, cruise control and keyless ride onboard computer system.
Add to that the refinements that the standard F 750 GS gained for 2021. As standard, it carries LED turn signals, ABS Pro, a USB charger to the right of the cockpit, traction control (DTC) replaces the ASC, and a few options are added to the catalog. Thus, engine brake control and dynamic braking control (DBC) are now available in the Pro Riding Modes. These include the pre-selection of up to four Riding Modes for the assignment of the buttons on the right handlebar controls (in combination with the ‘Connectivity’ equipment). There is also a new extra-low seat.
Powered by the same 83 cm³ twin as the F 850 but detuned, the F 750 GS is available with 77 horsepower – or reduced to 48 hp for the A2 license. Built around a steel double-tube frame, 41 mm fork, and spoked wheels of 19 and 17 inches, the motorcycle announces a ready-to-ride weight of 227 kilograms. The 40 years edition is also available on the 850 GS and the Adventure version.
