Overview
When a Chinese manufacturer decides to take on the 350 cc roadster segment, it enters an already crowded arena. Zontes knows this, and the 2025 350 T presents itself as a direct answer to European and Japanese pretensions in this niche: a 348 cc single-cylinder, 39.4 horsepower at 9,500 rpm, 32.4 Nm at 7,500 rpm, all for €5,187. On paper, the figures are honest — almost aggressive given the price tag.

The engine deserves a closer look. With a bore of 84.5 mm and a stroke of 62 mm, this is an oversquare architecture that favors high revs over low-end torque. The 12.3:1 compression ratio confirms this philosophy: the 350 T doesn't purr, it spins. This is a character fundamentally different from that of a Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which banks on low-rev rumble and nostalgia. Zontes commits fully to a modern roadster that demands you twist the wrist to get the best out of it. The 196 kg wet weight remains manageable, though it's no benchmark for lightness when compared to a Kawasaki Z400 that hovers around 167 kg dry.
The chassis relies on a reinforced steel frame, paired with a 43 mm telescopic fork and a rear monoshock. It's a classic setup, well-proportioned for the displacement, and should deliver predictable, well-mannered handling. The J.Juan brakes — a Spanish brand found on several machines in this segment — lend welcome credibility to the package. The 19-liter tank is generous for a roadster in this category, suggesting decent range for weekend rides or daily commuting without constantly watching for the next gas station.

The target audience is clearly the rider still in training or recently licensed under the A2 category, looking for a complete machine without breaking the bank. At this price, the 350 T finds itself in direct competition with the Honda CB350 in certain markets, and with the Benelli TNT 300 or CFMoto 400NK among rival Chinese brands. On this battlefield, Zontes plays the peak power card — slightly above the segment average — to attract those already thinking about their next upgrade. The risk is that the machine may prove less versatile in everyday use than one whose torque arrives lower in the rev range.

What remains to be judged is the actual build quality, long-term reliability, and after-sales network — three historically weak points for Chinese brands on the European market. Zontes has made notable progress in recent years, and the 350 T presents a polished appearance. But trust is built over time, not on a spec sheet. For a rational buyer on a tight budget who wants a spirited, well-equipped motorcycle, the proposition is serious. For those who prioritize peace of mind from a well-established dealer network and predictable resale value, Japanese alternatives still hold the edge.
