Overview

Announced as a one-off, the MT-09 immediately won over many people with its 3-cylinder engine. Before even putting its wheels on the tarmac, the motorcycle community was excited to see a Japanese manufacturer offer (again) a 3-cylinder engine. During its test, Oli le Belgen didn't hide how enthusiastic he was about this engine.

The CP3 has spirit, and the ability to calm its ardor on hazardous terrain can be useful. In 2016, Yamaha implements traction control on the MT-09. The TCS can be adjusted on two levels: 1 - minimum intervention level, 2 - maximum level, or be deactivated to leave room for riding. Because the MT-09 likes to play, and play with style with this Street Rally version. With this Supermotard-style habit and brawling with friends, the Yam roadster exudes a true impression of touring bike... and a more jovial face than the standard model, sporting a singularly appreciated physique. The S.R benefits from a few minor modifications to reveal a more sporty approach to riding. The riding position changes slightly, the MT-09 SR benefiting from a flatter and higher seat. Look at the radiator covers, the headlight fairing, the cross-design handguards, the small beak under the headlight, then look down at the engine block. Nice magnesium finish on the valve cover and the crankshaft end cover. Let's quickly pass over the embryos of an engine guard to discover the wind instrument of this MT. It's a complete Akrapovic titanium exhaust that will play the three-chord music. Once the ignition is on, the 3-cylinder starting to yap, and your desire for recklessness activated, your boots will be happy with the footrests offering better grip.

A bit of promotion with Valentino Rossi in delirious nighttime mode, a few accessories, an excited face, a desire for Supermotard, here is the essence of the virtues of the MT-09 Street Rally. Nothing exceptional but a rather nice exercise in the service of appeal.
