Special series are not the privilege of manufacturers or their importers. Some dealerships indulge themselves and/or offer to their customers with embellished models. Like this successful and refined Yamaha 847-R.
Behind this strange name lies a 900 Tracer GT noticeably revisited by Oscar Tasso and realized by the D&G Motorsport dealership, from Rimini. A touch of Italian sensibility embraces the fiery Japanese crossover, in a night of gold and emotion.
All in black, enhanced with gold wheels and a fork, the 847-R develops an obvious lineage with the R1 SP; a sublime special series of the hypersport in 2006. The Tracer gains depth while allowing itself an enigmatic shiver. The rims become Alpina spoke models, adding to the charm of the motorcycle. No frills, just class.
Accessorization finds its place with a series of parts from the Yam’ catalog, such as the Akrapovic titanium exhaust, LED turn signals, a sport license plate holder and a radiator protection grid.
However, you cannot buy the Tracer 847-R like a pizza at Super U. It will be produced in a limited series and only by reservation. In exchange for a check, the amount of which D&G Motorsport discreetly retains (however, of a height in correlation with the modifications made). Each customer will have their name engraved on a plate, which will also indicate the serial number. The first 847-R was offered to the singer Vasco Rossi as the first customer. Known for his provocation and figure of Italian rock in the 80s / 90s.
Let's remember that the motorcycle features as standard an aluminum spine frame, an adjustable bubble, a color TFT screen, 22-liter City cases, heated grips, a quickshifter, cruise control, a center stand, traction control, ABS, 3 engine maps, a 12V socket and a well-marked character.
Why 847? It is the displacement of the engine that animates this Tracer GT. A brilliant 3-cylinder that also delights the owners of MT-09 and XSR 900; more discreetly of the Niken. 115 lively, enthusiastic and alluring horsepower, loving the growl and not too keen on staying quiet ;-)
