Overview
We all remember the controversy. In 2011, when Triumph unveiled the Speed Triple and its new headlights, the motorcycling world was divided between outraged purists and captivated forward-thinkers. Logically, this furious gaze eventually rubbed off on the little sister, the Street Triple 675, for its first major update. And it must be said, the aesthetic shock was intentional. Triumph was playing a risky, but fully assumed, game.

Technically, the engineers at Hinckley chose wisdom, and that’s a good thing. Why change a winning formula? The 675 cm3 three-cylinder engine, inherited from the Daytona, remains a little jewel of character. With its 108 horsepower at 11700 rpm and its torque of 67.7 Nm, it offers an addictive power curve, equally comfortable in the high revs as it is generous in the low-mid range. The perimeter aluminum frame and the 41 mm inverted fork form a surgically precise assembly for a roadster. At 185 kg fully fueled, this English bike dances through corners with agility that still makes many Japanese competitors pale. It is simply one of the best machines in its category, an opinion that few serious testers would contradict.
So, what changes on such an oddity? Almost nothing, and that’s where the genius lies. The work focused on design and detail. In addition to the signature headlights, it inherits the handlebar from the R version, a little more sporty. We note redesigned side casings, blackened controls, revised stickers, and a general refined finish, with brushed aluminum elements. It's a refresh, certainly, but a high-end one. The most remarkable thing? Triumph kept the price below the psychological threshold of €8000, at €7990 precisely. A massive argument against competition that, at the time, struggled to offer such a blend of fun, finish, and performance for that price.
This 2011 Street Triple is aimed at the rider who seeks much more than just a means of transport. It’s the perfect bike for those who want a playful roadster, capable of everything: dynamic rides, tight urban commutes, or even a few sessions on the track for the most daring. It forgives the mistakes of the beginner while offering pure sensations to the experienced. Its only real flaw? Its look, which, it must be admitted, took time to be accepted. But perhaps that’s also what makes its charm today: it dared to be different. On the saddle, you quickly forget its appearance to remember only its explosive character and its perfect balance. A bike with character, simply.
