Overview

The 125 EXC allows riders to discover the enduro category in Katoche. Presented as the ideal machine for the youngest riders in the E1 category and for all those seeking extreme maneuverability, it boasts a minimum weight and a highly affordable price. Well known for its beautiful performance, the 125 EXC is the reference 2-stroke in the E1 category.

Frame

The modern design of the 125 EXC frame, composed of sections of lightweight and highly resistant chrome-molybdenum steel tubing, features maximum longitudinal rigidity combined with optimal torsional rigidity. It ensures great maneuverability and steering precision, as well as excellent stability when riding. Thus, the frame also represents the benchmark in terms of weight and stability. It is the same orange color as the factory KTM team competing in racing, making it even more attractive. Thanks to the combination of the frame design and the PDS rear suspension system, rear wheel shocks are absorbed and dissipated optimally. The 2016 model is also equipped with a solid frame protector.

Swingarm

The design of the die-cast aluminum swingarm has been the subject of extensive calculations and computer simulation. Its design and wall thickness guarantee optimal rigidity while reducing its weight, as well as defined flexibility with the greatest precision.

Suspension /Damping

The KTM 125 EXC receives a new fork equipped with new boots, reduced rake, and a new suspension setting optimally adapted to the weight and engine. It is also equipped with new fork protectors. The WP suspension components were designed specifically for enduro riding. They guarantee optimal traction and great comfort. At the rear, a WP Suspension PDS shock absorber is directly connected to the top of the swingarm. KTM machines are standard equipped with a large number of high and low-speed compression and rebound adjustment options.

Fork Clamps

The high-end CNC-machined fork clamps are designed specifically for enduro riding and guarantee steering precision by intervening on the fork’s rake. Feedback at the front wheel is exceptional, even on the most uneven terrain, increasing safety and passing speeds.

Cooling

The proven integrated cooling system of KTM allows coolant from the cylinder head to circulate via the frame triangle to the aluminum radiators supplied by WP.

Engine

On the KTM 125 EXC, the compact and lightweight engine is the most advanced in its class and delivers unparalleled performance. Equipped with an exhaust valve and a 6-speed gearbox, it is perfectly suited to the most extreme enduro conditions.

Airbox

At the same time, the ingenious design of the airbox optimally protects the air filter from any penetration of dust and ensures maximum airflow for high performance. The airbox covers are manufactured using a two-component process with new molded graphics. The filter is quickly replaced without tools. In addition, two additional lugs on the cover allow it to be fixed with screws if necessary.

Fairing

The fairing elements ensure a perfect union between the rider and his machine, down to the smallest detail.

Graphics

The new graphics of the 2016 models stylishly complement the look of the enduro machine lineup.

Handlebar

All EXC models are equipped with ultra-resistant profiled Neken handlebars made of high-strength aluminum alloy. The design-proven handlebar clamps allow the handlebar to be fixed in four different positions. The new Leonelli lighting control is adapted to the requirements of enduro riding. The upgraded series handguards offer optimal protection for the rider's hands.

Speedometer

The speedometer manufactured by MAE integrates all indicators and warning lights into a single block, except for the turn signals. The dashboard thus adopts a clean and minimalist look, with excellent visibility of all available information.

Tank

All fuel tanks are made of lightweight polyethylene. These large-capacity tanks are designed specifically for enduro riding and are all equipped with a quarter-turn bayonet-type filler cap opening mechanism allowing for quick and easy opening.

Brakes

KTM off-road models have always been equipped with high-tech Brembo brakes paired with Wave discs, which represent the ultimate solution in braking. These are true benchmarks in the enduro category and remain unchanged on the 2016 models.

Front Wheel Axle

The front wheel axle now goes from 26 mm to 22 mm to reduce weight and ensure a better feel for the front end. The adjusted rake and higher ground clearance offer greater stability.

Fork Protectors

The fork protectors have been adapted to the fork legs and are also lighter. The open design offers the same level of protection while allowing easy access to the fork legs for cleaning and maintenance.

Wheels

The black Giant aluminum 7050 T6 rims with black spokes are matched to CNC-machined hubs and lightweight aluminum spoke nipples, guaranteeing optimal stability for minimum weight. Maxxis enduro tires, developed specifically for KTM, ensure optimal traction and exceptional performance.
