Overview
Kawasaki has unleashed madness in its roadster clan. An H2 with a handlebar and no fairing. A hyperfighter unlike any other! An almost surreal machine that prioritizes emotions and engineering enthusiasts. Drawing on the technology of the H2 and H2 SX, the Z H2 is the only roadster on the market equipped with a supercharger. There's enough here to send you to Mars.
200 horsepower. A crazy thing. Akashi’s hyperfighter delivers the same power as the H2 at launch. A force equivalent to that of an R1 or a GSX-R 1000. With the famous supercharger blowing into its innards, the Z H2 promises enormous backhand slaps with every acceleration. There are the horses... there’s the way the engine distributes them. In the H2s, it’s a big heart that lifts the rider’s with every twist of the throttle. This engine has been reworked to offer more torque in the low and mid ranges. Staggering, its peak reaches 14 mkg.
If the Z H2 benefits from the supercharger and trellis frame of its pressurized cousins, it receives other technical attributes. No monobrach swingarm but an element of the ZX-10R type. Braking relies on Brembo M4.32 calipers. ABS and the quickshifter are present, as well as a host of buttons on the switchgear, clearly borrowed from the Versys SE. Enough to pilot the numerous electronic assists to prevent the Z from launching you into orbit on every corner exit. We find intelligent braking IBS, an inertial measurement unit IMU, the stationary start assist, traction control KTRC with 3 modes, 2 power modes, a cruise control, and a beautiful color TFT screen with smartphone connectivity.
Based on H2 technology, the meanest Z in the family recovers one of its flaws: weight. With a total weight when fully fueled of 239 kilograms, the power-to-weight ratio is less frightening than the total power displayed. It is the heaviest of the hyper-roadsters, but its technology and the character of its pressurized mechanics make it one of the fiercest fighters. The price will also calm some ardor, but the machine is not a roadster like the others. A mixture of aggression, fury and madness reserved for those for whom blowing a fuse is not enough.
