Overview
Few sport 600s have been sold for a while. Let’s appreciate all the more the fact that Kawasaki still offers in its catalog one of the rare survivors of this segment – once highly valued.
The model is banned from competition but is a superb track companion and even enjoyable on the road. The ZX-6R is offered in Performance version. Not to clock big times, but to offer a more sporty feel.
Kawa engines have plenty of punch – the 636 will show it even more here with an Akrapovic exhaust. Entirely clad in carbon, it adds little extra power but is much lighter than the original component. Weight gain: 2.9 kg – Gain in speed: 2 km/h? – Gain in music: the song instead of the growl. If you are looking for pure performance, it would be better to turn to the S-K6SO7-ZC, capable of spitting out 8 more horsepower from the 4-cylinder.
Protections are installed around the tank to preserve it from unwanted friction. Finally, the rear line gains style with the installation of a seat cover. So, the ZX-6R 636 is ready... not for combat, for sport.
With an engine wanting to be more full than a "pure SuperSport", the 636 offers one of the best levels of comfort in the category. Or rather, the most versatile character. An R6 shows more hysteria (once the breath is recovered). As for the F3 675, it charms with its Italian rumble. With the Performance pack, the price climbs accordingly but remains always lower than that of its direct competitors.
