Overview
Just the name is intimidating. By reviving the “Eliminator” designation, Kawasaki strengthens its (small) range of cruisers with a shadowy machine, with a more aggressive style than the Vulcan cousin. Is it as intimidating on the road? Not exactly. This fellow came to make a show for a different audience: the face is aggressive but the engine is less powerful. With its 451 cm3 of 45 hp and a significant price difference, the Eliminator targets A2 licenses and aims to outmaneuver the Honda 500 Rebel.
It exists in two versions, standard and SE. It is obviously the latter that interests us in these lines. In exchange for a few extra bills, the Special Edition has a leather seat with stitching, a USB-C port added to the handlebar (with a basic integration), fork gaiters and a mini fork head.
The 500 Eliminator SE also boasts an exclusive color scheme. It is dressed in black, while the standard is… black too – going from “Metallic Flat Spark Black” to “Metallic Matte Carbon Gray / Flat Ebony.” And someone got paid for that at Kawasaki Japan ????
Whatever the version, the Kawa custom promises to be a simple and fun machine with a “look,” simplicity and a friendly engine for cruising in joy without seeking violence. The instrumentation is minimalist (as it should be on a custom) without being stingy, featuring Bluetooth to pair a smartphone. You can then keep it in your pocket… and forget it, because it’s on the handlebars that it happens ;-).
