Overview

Honda has always cultivated an image of quality, demanding standards, and seriousness, a reputation that is recognized and universal. Consequently, when you’re looking for a fun machine, it’s not necessarily with them that you turn first. And yet, nestled within its catalog are three of the most mischievous machines around: the Monkey, the Dax, and the MSX. It is the latter that decided to undergo a makeover in 2025.

No revolution but a well-placed scalpel. The tank panels are simplified and dynamized while the triangular footrests under the seat have been replaced by small covers. These new surfaces offer more space and freedom for visual expressions.

With its construction scheme, the Grom remains as customizable as ever… or rather, easy to customize with its easy-to-remove fairing; more practical for decorating or reworking each element. The renewal of its silhouette is accompanied by the addition of an engine guard, giving it a more “filled” belly without adding weight.

Inside, we find the well-known 125cc engine. Still rated at around ten horsepower, it has greatly appreciated the adoption of a 5-speed gearbox in 2021. The power may seem modest compared to some productions but it propels a small, lightweight, and mischievous machine. Consequently, it’s impossible to be bored in the fun environments for which it is destined. Its consumption is ridiculous and it feels capable of exceeding 90 km/h.

No modifications on the chassis side. The “Mini Street X-treme” relies on a steel backbone accompanied by 31mm inverted forks and a mono-shock absorber. With its small 12-inch rims, its weight of 103 kg and its mini wheelbase of 1200 mm, agility is exceptional. The braking is simple but sufficient, with a 220mm disc at the front pinched by a 2-piston caliper. The rear is satisfied with a single piston for the 190mm disc. Surprising refinement, an inertial measurement unit manages the effectiveness of the ABS.

The MSX 125 is entitled, for the first time, to its collection of accessories. Between the windshield, the 10-liter saddlebags, the handguards, the luggage rack and the saddlebag, there is enough to create a funny little devil.
