Overview
The very concept of a touring motorcycle reaches its apex here, almost a caricature of luxury and extravagance. Imagine a Ritz lounge set on two wheels, propelled by the largest engine ever branded with the Bar and Shield emblem. With its 1923 cm³, the Milwaukee Eight 117 doesn't mess around: it produces 105 horsepower, but above all, it delivers 165.7 Nm of torque from 3500 rpm, a pulling force that sticks you to the leather without having to play with the gears. On a machine weighing 428 kg fully fueled, this generosity is less a question of pure speed – limited to 170 km/h – than of sovereign authority on the asphalt.

Harley has long understood that in this segment, technology must fade into the background behind comfort and connectivity. The RDRS and H-D Connect duo transforms this giant into an intelligent vehicle. The first, a suite of rider aids, includes adaptive ABS, traction control, and an anti-dribble system that judiciously tempers the twin-cylinder's enthusiasm. The second, after a free year, will cost you about fifteen euros per month to remotely monitor your jewel, from fuel level to location in case of theft. That’s the price of ostentation in the digital age.
The equipment borders on indecency, much like the price, which hovers around €43,200. Adaptive Daymaker headlights, Boom! 30K audio system with Bluetooth, heated seat and grips, cruise control, integrated saddlebags and top case… the list is endless. The Boom Box GTS multimedia center, with its touchscreen and Apple CarPlay compatibility, would make the interface of many German sedans pale in comparison. Even the suspensions have been enhanced, with a Showa SDBV fork and rear shock absorbers with simplified hydraulic adjustment, to try to lighten the gymnastics of this behemoth in corners.

Who is this empress of the roads for? Certainly not for the novice or the track rider seeking thrills. It targets the seasoned globetrotter, the one for whom travel is a comfortable, almost ceremonial ritual. A public that will not hesitate to pay the price of a small city car to afford the pinnacle of Harley production, with the prestige associated with the CVO label. Faced with competitors like the BMW K 1600 B or the Honda Gold Wing, it bets everything on aura, raw sensation, and American cruiser style, rather than polytechnicism or agility.
Ultimately, the CVO 1920 Limited is a statement of intent more than a simple vehicle. It embraces its weight, its appetite, and its price with an assumed arrogance. It will be criticized for its voraciousness, its intimidating mass, and a price that borders on the irrational. But for the American touring enthusiast, it remains the ultimate symbol, a flagship where the journey counts as much as the destination, provided it is undertaken in a leather-upholstered armchair, rocked by the cavernous rumble of its 1923 cm³.
