Overview
Reconnecting with a neglected, moribund, yet very fashionable genre at the end of the 20th century, the new Ducati SuperSport aims to once again offer the essence of a forgotten philosophy. A road sport, comfortable rather than radical, with satisfying and exploitable performance. In short, a way to have fun, put the throttle down, with a racing motorcycle, without triggering aches and pains after 100 miles.
The SuperSport, or 939 SS, reconnects with the designation of the captivating and somewhat demanding 750 and 900 SS (let's not forget the 350, 400, 600, 620, 800, 1000). Without, however, completely absorbing the spirit of these generous sports bikes, and not really versatile. The SS were sporty, the SuperSport will be Sport-GT. And to fully demonstrate its sense of rigor and efficiency on the road, the lady presents here equipped with a set of Öhlins suspensions. Many Ducati are paired with a version with Swedish components. The SS can also be proud of this. Enthusiasts will grasp the full extent and added value of the 48 mm treated titanium nitride inverted fork and a fully adjustable single shock absorber. To complement the equipment, this S also offers a seat cover and an up&down shifter.
Apart from these elements, the SS 939 S does not differ from the standard version in terms of engine or frame. It is powered by the Hypermotard desmo twin, delivering 110 horsepower and almost 10 mkg. Monobras, trellis frame (from the 821 Monster), Panigale-like appearance, Brembo braking with M4-32 calipers and 320 mm discs, the motorcycle inherits all the Ducati genes from the various families. Not to mention state-of-the-art electronics with three Riding Modes, traction control, ABS Bosch 9MP, LED lights, a USB socket and... a series-fitted adjustable screen and heated grips as an option. The accessories catalog or the choice of packs will allow the SuperSport to be largely embellished.
