Overview

Like its Panigale V4 S cousin, the hyper-roadster echoes Bologna’s glory in competition. In exchange for a hefty €2,000 increase, the motorcycle can be adorned with the "Corse" livery. This means a No. 1 badge on the face and shoulders, streaks of black, raised stickers with fluorescent effects, and the spirit of the Desmosedici.

The new episode of the Streetfighter V4 has taken a small step into the excess of hyper-testosterone roadsters. The engine and chassis are borrowed from the hypersport Panigale V4 with virtually no changes. A slightly different intake, 2 horsepower less, a half-degree more open steering head angle, and that’s it! The Ducati monster becomes even more terrible.

It now delivers 214 horsepower. Incredible! Its electronics are abundant and its design even sharper. As is customary for an S version to be more capable of enhancing efficiency and premium feel, the SF V4 naturally doubles into this better-equipped duplicate.

The Streetfighter V4 S is suspended via a 3rd generation Öhlins pilot-controlled damping system. The 43 mm NIX30 inverted fork and the TTX36 shock absorber are controlled with greater precision on the track and more comfort on the road. Hydraulic drawer valves (and no longer needle) act more quickly, guaranteeing increased responsiveness to road profiles. There is also a “Cruise detection” strategy, softening the suspension when the system detects constant rolling, like on the highway.

The Smart EC 3.0 system from Öhlins works in conjunction with the Riding Modes. Custom damping, with the inimitable Swedish “feel of the road.” Furthermore, agility will be boosted with a pair of forged aluminum rims, much lighter than those in the standard Streetfighter V4. The front rim even allowed itself to lose 150 grams since the previous SF V4 S.

A steering damper from Öhlins, a lithium-ion battery, and two kilos less complete the distinction of the S model. As with the other version, riders will enjoy the new technical refinements that are the Brembo Hypure brakes, the Ducati Vehicle Observer module to optimize riding aids, a more pleasant quickshifter, the 6.9-inch large TFT screen, the Race eCBS braking system acting with onboard intelligence on the rear caliper, the new WET Riding Mode, and the “Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm” for increased traction.

189 kilos without fuel.... 214 horsepower in the V4.... An appetite for violence in the accelerator before the electronics digest.... The Streetfighter V4 S is one of the most incredible roadsters that can be found in current production.
