Overview

When did it all go wrong? Was it the night marketing executives sniffed out a highway of cocaine, or when a Huracán courted a Streetfighter? Surely it was the same day, and perhaps even in the same room. Regardless, Ducati is attacking strongly in 2023 with its blistering hyper-roadster reworked in STO style. Less extreme than the SF V4 SP but even more extravagant, here is the Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini.

Let's start by defining STO. 'Super Trofeo Omologation'. The manufacturer from Sant’Agata offers its Huracán model in this optimized version for both road and track, with a large 640-horsepower V10 and a heavily burnished racing trim.

The car holds our attention for a good reason: it has largely influenced the Streetfighter V4. Its aesthetics are completely based on the Lambo’s violent racing décor. A bright pistachio green is paired with a vivid orange-red for a retina-burning effect. The number 63 on the tank could ignite the passion of Francesco Bagnaia fans; except that this number is not to honor the official Ducati rider…

It recalls the year of birth of the Lamborghini automotive firm. Do not confuse it with Ferruccio’s first company, created in 1948 to manufacture tractors and make his fortune. To mark the occasion, Ducati will only manufacture 630 numbered units of this crazy machine. Crazy by its extroverted design, its price, and the entire set of very particular attention it has received.

Hitting hard is essential. The uppercut arrives gradually as the curious person details the exterior parts of this Streetfighter Lamborghini. The quality steps up a notch with carbon fiber pieces everywhere…. Including a stylistic mutation. The front fender incorporates louvers similar to those on the Huracán STO’s snout. The engine guard is engraved like forced efficiency for airflow, mimicking the rear brake cooling system of the STO. The upper sides and the seat cover incorporate extractors to also recall the cooling needs of its (distant) four-wheeled cousin. Other parts are carbon fiber but without receiving a mutagen. This remains premium for the cover protecting the dashboard, the tank cover, the heel protectors, the rear fender, the sprocket cover, as well as the (perforated) clutch cover, the valve covers, the radiator sides, the spoilers, the chain guard, the rear frame protectors, the headlight bracket, the seat stop… well, everywhere, really!

You haven’t missed that on this motorcycle, the brake calipers, the central nut on the rear wheel made of titanium, and some of the widgets are finished in scarlet. The Öhlins fork prefers black. As for the technology, it's a treat: the beautiful rims have the same design as those of the Huracán. Between the two, two Akrapovic silencers come to make the V4 sing, remove a few kilos, and add a pinch of horsepower.

Because that’s where the other madness of the Streetfighter begins. Its monstrous engine. Directly from the Panigale V4 sportbike (like the chassis), this engine spits out 208 horsepower. That's more than the majority of hypersportives available on the market. A crazy thing, fortunately controlled by strong electronics. So much power that posteriors will flatten on the seat, which is also specific with a finish similar to the seats of the Huracán.

The Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini also features a racing tank cap, adjustable aluminum footrest plates that are absolutely superb, levers of the same make, a dry clutch, a cover in matching color, and the serial number inscribed on the airbox cover, the key, the TFT dashboard during startup, and a certificate of authenticity in aluminum. Owners will (and they alone) be able to afford a few matching items (helmet, leathers, etc.) to the very equivocal design of the Streetfighter Uracán duo.

Only 630 units… and a little more. There will also be an ultra-special series of 63 units, named Speciali Clienti, for a different category of wealthy individuals. Be warned, we are no longer in the same world: Lamborghini’s special clients will have the possibility to personalize their SF V4 with body colors and rims identical to those of their car.

This is the second time that Ducati has partnered with the bull brand. In 2021, the Diavel had thus copied the Siàn FKP 37 – another exceptional car, also manufactured in 63 units. The problem is that the price has taken a serious fever by frequenting such people. The Streetfighter Lamborghini costs twice as much as the SP version (which already costs an arm and a leg). I don’t even dare to write the numbers.

Let's briefly note that for such a price, the clientele leaves with a roadster with phenomenal potential, semi-active Öhlins suspensions, carbon fiber everywhere, a well-stocked electronic assistance package – traction control, slip control, wheelie control, stoppies control, engine brake control, quickshifter, cornering ABS, launch control, three Riding Modes – Brembo Stylema brakes, a breathtaking monobrach, pure madness at the handlebars, and prestigious names on the trim.

P.S.: as always with this type of exceptional motorcycle, it took only a few hours for all the Streetfighter Lamborghinis to be reserved. Another nice marketing coup from Ducati, associated with a luxury image that is reinforced. To the point that form has taken precedence over substance...
