Overview
Does pure madness still have a place on the asphalt, or has electronics definitively replaced instinct? Asking this question in 2013 inevitably leads you to the Aprilia RSV4 Factory. It’s not a motorcycle; it’s a declaration of war in aluminum, the 65° V4 screaming to 12,500 rpm to unleash its 184 horsepower as a reminder of who’s boss. With a sleek perimeter frame and an engine whose position can be adjusted, it was born to tame the tight corners of race tracks, not to refuel in the city.

Faced with the often more restrained Japanese bikes and the Panigale playing the extreme card, Aprilia bets on aggressive intelligence. APRC is not just an option; it’s the integrated racing co-pilot. Eight-stage adjustable traction control, wheelie control to manage wheelies, the automatic quickshifter, and even an assisted starter transform the rider into a tactician. And the major addition this year is the three-level Bosch ABS, a necessary compromise that weighs barely two kilos. It can be disengaged, but let's admit it, in track mode, it becomes another ally for pushing the limit.
The chassis, for its part, is a lesson in mechanics. Öhlins fork and shock absorber, Brembo M430 monoblock brakes, forged rims: the Factory is a sensations factory. The V4, with its 117 Nm of torque, is not the most brutal in the segment, but its sound and progressive character create a unique connection. At 181 kg dry, it throws itself into corners with a liveliness that makes many of its more massive rivals pale. Even the fuel tank gains 1.5 liters, a welcome breath of fresh air for those who use it on the open road.
At nearly 20,000 euros, it is aimed at the pure enthusiast, the demanding track rider who refuses compromises. It’s a demanding machine, a sports bike that doesn’t smile, with a 84.5 cm seat height that spares no one. It doesn’t seek to be versatile or accessible. It is there to remind us that, even drowned in electronics, the soul of a motorcycle can still tingle through a handlebar. It doesn’t coddle you; it challenges you. And that’s precisely why we love it.
