Overview
Even the youngest of Yamahas deserves its 70th anniversary version. Perhaps more legitimately than the others. Because the image will be even stronger for the beginner who can develop an attachment to the brand. Especially since this livery revives the memory of one of the most fabulous sportbikes that Yam’ has ever designed: the YZF-R7.
It was the Superbike machine of the late 90s. 25 years later, it still fascinates as much. Its white and red livery adorned with Speedblock motifs covers the R125. A few symbolic details:
No special equipment for this specific color scheme but a symbol. It is found on the R3, R7, R9, R1 (outside of Europe) and was already applied to the M1 MotoGP machines, the machine entered for the 8 Hours of Suzuka, as well as those of Superbike (in Jerez) during the year 2025.
Now that we have nostalgia under high pressure of adrenaline in our eyes, what do we do? We start the variable valve timing single-cylinder engine and believe in it. Once the clip-ons are in our hands, the young rider will corner as much as possible to make the most of the 15 horsepower available. The R125 takes it seriously with its 41 mm KYB inverted fork, its MotoGP-style open fork crown, its 5-inch color TFT screen and surprising electronics for this level – the quickshifter as an option, still; but the traction control as standard, we look for the usefulness…
The driver can also simply dream of the madness of the 90s without seeking it today, and appreciate a decoration full of memories.
