Overview
Victory Motorcycles has always known how to flex its muscles, and this 2009 10th Anniversary Vision Tour is the ultimate expression of that. With its 1731 cm3 V-twin engine, the American manufacturer opposes a raw philosophy to the refined sophistication of European touring bikes. A square bore of 101 mm, a moderate compression ratio of 9.4:1, and electronic fuel injection with dual 45 mm bodies: the recipe targets torque, not show ponies. The announced 97 horsepower won't dazzle number enthusiasts, but the 147.8 Nm of torque promises to pull the mass without ever seeking the cruise control.

The chassis and dimensions speak the same language, that of a land-based liner. A wheelbase of 1669 mm and a low seat at 673 mm ensure anchoring stability, while the 148 mm ground clearance recalls that tight turns are not part of the initial program. The classic telescopic fork at the front and the gas mono-shock at the rear, with its curved arm, are calibrated to swallow asphalt rather than tickle it. The brakes, with their three and two-piston calipers, have the main mission of slowing down nearly 400 kg dry weight, an exercise that requires anticipation and respect.
What strikes you is the consistency of the whole. The final transmission by belt, silent and clean, perfectly embodies the character of this engine that prefers deep rumbling to nervous bursts. The 22.7-liter tank announces ranges compatible with wide-open spaces, and the tires in specific sizes, a 130/70 at the front on an 18-inch rim and a 180/60 at the rear on 16-inch rims, confirm the anchoring in American cruising tradition. The Vision Tour is not a motorcycle you ride, it's a motorcycle you command.
Victory has disappeared from the landscape, and this anniversary edition represents the peak of a certain idea of touring, without aesthetic and mechanical compromise. It does not engage in dialogue with a BMW K1600GT or a Honda Gold Wing, which are too versatile for its taste. It is aimed at the pure touring rider, for whom the straight line is a horizon and the rumble of the big V-Twin is the only soundtrack worth having. It is a machine of conviction, in the image of the brand that forged it.
