Overview

It’s not a trim level; it’s an appetite, found in many manufacturers. Darkness! Whether glossy, matte, satin, draped, suggested, omnipotent, harsh or delicate, it’s found on many models. The Rocket III GT "Triple Black" is another way of seeing darkness tearing through power. Three cylinders, three exhaust outlets, three hundred kilos, three shades of black.

For Triumph, this means black everywhere, like on the R Black version. But…. The GT already exists in Phantom Black – what are the differences? They add even more: all around the radiator, for the fork legs, the headlight bezel, the brake caliper supports, the handlebar, its risers, the exhaust line, the foot controls, the rear subframe, the sissy-bar and the front mudguard. The latter is made of carbon. Where this monstrous cruiser justifies its first name is through the offset layering of three coats of paint on its tank. It slides seamlessly from granite to chocolate to end in shadow.

It’s clear that black is the star. Technically, nothing changes. The enormous engine spits out 167 horsepower and, above all, a colossal torque exceeding 22 mkg. Like on the R, the electronic equipment is substantial and the cycle parts are robust. The main difference between the two versions lies in the crew’s welcome: a more relaxed riding position for the rider and better arranged comfort for the passenger.

The Rocket III made its grand return with a high-end TFC model. It doesn’t seem eager to take on that level of requirement again. So it settles for elegance shrouded in blacks. 1000 units will be produced, for a handsome check of 25000 euros. A certificate of authenticity accompanies this dark excess.
