Overview

MV Agusta masters an art like no other manufacturer: first creating a superb motorcycle model, then declining a sublime version. This is the case with the 1000 Superveloce, appearing in a special AGO series. Quasi-identical to the Oro, it asserts itself as a culmination of beauty, beastliness, and power – combined with genuine pieces of Agostini’s history. You want to set your wallet on fire?!?! Now is the time to learn more.

The Meccanica Verghera continues to capitalize on and recycle its sporting past and its icon Giacomo. Since the F4 1000 Ago in 2006 (a 750 was planned but did not materialize), the Varese firm has also honored its favorite rider with an F3 800 Ago and an 800 SuperVeloce Ago. The 1000 Superveloce culminates in a paroxysm of luxury and personal gratification. Everything about this machine is desirable, and it knows how to show it like a sultry striptease artist.

Its design is eroticism, where carbon fiber blends with vertigo. In addition to its bodywork and wings, the 1000 SV announces no less than 41 carbon fiber elements; either woven or forged. The titanium exhaust pipes were designed for it by Akrapovic. The beauty knows how to hold itself with grandeur thanks to its semi-active Öhlins suspension, Brembo Stylema brake calipers, Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tires (like Velcro for the road), and specific spoked wheels: they differ from those of the Oro and reprise the pattern of the 800.

The tributes to the king are numerous and symbolic. Notably the distinctive feature of (almost) all Ago replicas: the large 1 on a yellow background, evocative of his domination in competition. Then his nickname inscribed on the rear fairing and on the tank’s knee pads. The black leather and Alcantara seat is embroidered with the name Agostini and features arrow-shaped stripes like on his racing suit. The leather belt running across the tank is adorned with a gold plate presenting 15 stars, like as many world titles to his credit. Just next to it, Giacomo himself signed each tank.

The refinement goes further than on the other special series from the Varese firm. This one receives on its fork tube a gold 18-carat plate engraved with its progressive serial number. The ultimate in kitsch, the contact key contains a piece from one of the trophies won by Giacomo Agostini during his career. This trophy was chosen by Giacomo Agostini himself from his personal collection.

Each Superveloce 1000 Ago is accompanied by an exclusive kit, including a certificate of authenticity with serial number, a premium motorcycle cover, and a set of CNC-machined levers, footrests and carbon fiber heel protectors, an adjustable swingarm height adjustment kit, as well as a luxurious leather and Alcantara passenger seat.

Throughout his racing career, King Ago never rode a machine reaching the power of the Varese 1000 4-cylinder. Frightening, this block releases 208 horsepower at 13,000 rpm, accompanied by 11.9 mkg of torque. Fortunately, the engine is managed by a large slice of electronics: traction control, wheelie control, angle-sensitive ABS, Launch Control, 4 Riding Modes, anti-stoppie, up & down shifter, cruise control… and to add a little more cream on the cake, a 5.5-inch color TFT screen, data acquisition, and GPS Mobisat geolocation (first year free).

The MV Agusta 1000 Superveloce Ago doesn’t arrive alone. By kindly asking, the fan can wear the matching suit and helmet. After taking measurements, Dainese can create a Custom Works Demone GP 3X kangaroo leather racing suit, inspired by Agostini’s attire and customizable with the owner’s name. AGV completes the set with a top-of-the-line Pista GP RR racing helmet, in a tricolor livery reminiscent of the helmet of… we’ve already written it many times. Two beautiful gifts, exclusively reserved for buyers of this machine.

So, do you buy a motorcycle, a symbol, a work of art, or a speculative object? With prestigious productions, you’re not quite sure. What is certain is that this Agostini / MV-Agusta cocktail continues and will continue to make many people dream. By the way, why is this series limited to 83 units? Because the protagonist celebrated his 83rd birthday on June 16, 2025, the day of the presentation of this fascinating motorcycle.

All for Ago. An essential and eternal rider, who has not been introduced for a long time as his prestige hovers above all. But we will still recall the essentials of the MV-Agusta standard-bearer. Native of Brescia, Giacomo began his sporting career on a Moto-Morini 175 Settebello in 1961. He became a rider for MV in 1965 with whom he won 13 world championship titles (in 500 and 350) then switched to Yamaha in 1974 where he gleaned 2 more titles. During his career, Agostini will have won 15 world titles, 123 GP victories, 10 Tourist Trophy, 1 Daytona 200 Miles, marked 1577 points, pocketed 18 national titles and 311 victories in Italian competitions.
