Overview
Who can afford to price a supersport at €33,400 in France and limit it to 300 units without anyone batting an eye? MV Agusta, obviously. The Varese firm, third manufacturer in the standings of the last World Supersport behind Triumph, Kawasaki, and Honda, capitalizes on its track legitimacy to develop its F3 800 into a 2025 Competizione version. And the result, on paper, is enough to make fans of radical Italian sportbikes drool.

The 798 cc triple remains the centerpiece of the package. Fed with titanium valves and topped with an Akrapovic Euro 5+ homologated exhaust, it belts out 160 hp at 13,250 rpm and 88.1 Nm of torque at 10,100 rpm. That's 13 hp more than the F3 RR, a gain attributed mainly to the exhaust system but likely also to reworked fuel injection mapping. The compression ratio climbs to 13.3:1 with a bore/stroke of 79 x 54.3 mm, typical of an architecture designed for high-revving performance. On the transmission side, the MV bidirectional quickshifter and the new 9-disc slipper clutch, which halves lever effort, make the 6-speed gearbox smooth and precise. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint is dispatched in under 3 seconds thanks to launch control coupled with the FLC anti-squat system.
But the real revolution of this Competizione plays out on the scales. MV Agusta conducted a methodical gram-shaving campaign: BST carbon wheels (3 kg less than the RR's aluminum ones), lithium-ion battery (another 3 kg saved), Akrapovic exhaust (3 kg less), lighter Öhlins suspension (1 kg). The total reaches 14 kg of reduction compared to the RR, for a claimed dry weight of 185 kg and 197.4 kg wet with the 16.5-liter tank full. The power-to-weight ratio flirts with 0.9 hp/kg. We're entering the territory of road-legal track weapons. Up against a Ducati Panigale V2 or an Aprilia RS 660, the little MV clearly plays in another league of radicalness — and pricing.

On the chassis side, the tubular steel trellis frame paired with its aluminum side plates stays true to the proven architecture, but everything around it has been upgraded. The 43 mm Öhlins NIX30 fork, with TiN-coated tubes, offers 120 mm of fully adjustable travel in compression, rebound, and preload. The rear TTX GP 36 twin-tube shock with external piggyback reservoir completes the setup with 130 mm of travel. A 19-position adjustable Öhlins steering damper locks it all down. The radially mounted Brembo Stylema monoblock brakes bite down on 320 mm discs at the front and 220 mm at the rear. Cornering ABS operates in Sport and Race modes, with the option to fully disable it on track via the dedicated Akrapovic mapping. Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tires in 120/70 and 180/55 on 17-inch rims complete a chassis package that leaves nothing to chance. The onboard electronics, managed by an ECU paired with a 6-axis inertial measurement unit, offer four maps (Rain, Sport, Race, Custom), 8-level traction control, and an intelligent anti-wheelie system that tolerates light front wheels when acceleration warrants it.

That leaves the question everyone is asking: what is the price of the 2025 MV Agusta F3 800 Competizione in France? At €33,400 for 300 units worldwide, this Italian machine is clearly aimed at collector-riders who want an exclusive sportbike, equally at home on track days as on Sunday rides along winding back roads. The forged carbon finish on the aero winglets (8 kg of downforce at 240 km/h), the Alcantara seat, the CNC-machined triple clamps, and the numbered plaque are reminders that MV Agusta sells dreams as much as performance. It's expensive, it's radical, it's limited. And that's precisely why it works.
