Overview

Like all the others, Kawasaki has significantly reduced its presence in the custom segment... in Europe. There is now only one remaining, the 650 Vulcan S. But it can be appreciated in different ways: standard, SE version, Café style, or touring trend. Light touring, Kawasaki knows. All the VN models of all sizes have benefited from a Light Tourer trim, in order to fulfill the mission. The little Vulcan takes up the torch and the codes.

Custom, certainly, but with a touch of roadster temperament. Logical, as the chassis base and mechanics come from the ex-ER-6n. We will therefore enjoy a somewhat enthusiastic ride, now free to discover weekend rides. By becoming a Light Tourer, the Vulcan 650 S has acquired the appropriate equipment to ride in shelter, take madam along, and sleep under the stars. A large windshield, as long as an arm, provides protection on the front; and can be removed in a few moments if needed to restore a cleaner line. A small sissy-bar will support the passenger's lower back. As for luggage, it will find a small place in the leather saddlebags. Like the windshield, they can be easily removed without tools. But easy on the items to be carried: only 2.2 kilos per saddlebag, and they do not lock.

With these few accessories, the Kawasaki custom gains a small touring air. Form will be more used than function but admit that the little touch is there.
