Overview

Imagining a Harley-Davidson weighing over 350 kg with a tall handlebar, a touring head, and saddlebags, capable of rivaling a Panigale on a track, seems to be pure fiction. Yet, the CVO Road Glide RR 2025 is this fiction made tangible, a monster born from the madness of the King of the Baggers. Milwaukee decided not only to participate in this iconoclastic war, but to write it with a pen dipped in acid, creating the most radical and technologically advanced bagger ever seen.

The heart of this aberration is an engine that defies all logic. The Milwaukee-Eight 131, with its 2153 cm3, is the largest twin ever produced by Harley. A single cylinder of its own could accommodate the total displacement of an average sportbike. But here, mass is transcended by technology: specific camshafts, Stage IV cylinder heads, a 68 mm intake, and a titanium Akrapovic exhaust. The result is a power of 153 horsepower and a torque of 204 Nm, figures that would place this touring bike neck and neck with superbikes. The power is delivered with an authority that belies all preconceived notions about Harley engines.

This brute power would have been ridiculous without a cycle part up to the task. And there, Harley simply raided its racing department catalog. The Öhlins FGR 253 inverted fork and TTX25 shock absorbers are track components. Brembo GP4-RX calipers are radially mounted on 320 mm discs. The twin-cradle frame is reinforced, the transmission is a more robust Racing King 6. It’s the equipment of a race bike, but it’s here attached to a Road Glide. The idea is so excessive that it makes Indian’s Challenger RR almost reasonable in comparison.

The ultimate paradox lies in the equipment. This machine, capable of exceeding 200 km/h and tailored for the track, retains its immense touring head, its 500-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system, and its 12.3-inch TFT screen with all modern connectivity. It even offers nine riding modes, including Track modes that disable aids for the track, while Road or Rain modes manage traction control sensitive to the angle and cornering ABS for long journeys. The solo seat, optimized footrests, and raised handlebar seek to combine a control position for performance with the comfort of a GT.

The CVO Road Glide RR is therefore a motorcycle for a non-existent audience: the millionaire touring racer. With only 131 units planned and a price announced around $110,000, it is a collector's item, a marketing declaration of war on Indian, and a full-scale test for Harley's racing technologies. Is it a good motorcycle? Probably not for most people. But it is a fascinating symbol, proof that even the most traditional manufacturers can, when they decide to "blow their minds," create a machine that blurs all boundaries between the road, competition, and pure madness.
