Overview
When Bologna decides to connect the electrical circuit to pure adrenaline, that's what gives the Ego Corsa. Energica, the Italian brand that has long supplied the MotoE as a production motorcycle, doesn't hold back with this model: 120 kW at the pump, or 163 horsepower available without revving up, without a flat spot, without the slightest hesitation. The torque, 214.8 Nm, arrives from the very first millimeter of throttle. This is the fundamental difference with everything we know from the thermal world: no power curve to tame, just a wall of instant torque.

The steel trellis frame receives equipment that leaves no doubt about the machine's intentions. 43 mm Öhlins FGRT inverted fork at the front, Öhlins AG PRX mono-shock at the rear, Brembo GP4 braking with radial calipers at the front and single disc on corner exit. These are the components found on premium thermal sportbikes costing 25,000 euros and beyond. The Ego Corsa does not compromise on this point, and it is consistent with its positioning. This is not a showroom sportbike, but a motorcycle built to function on the track.
The dry weight of 247 kilograms is the figure that cools enthusiasm. It’s heavy, frankly heavy, and no marketing argument will change physics during a late brake into corner 1. A Ducati Panigale V4 S weighs around 175 kg, a BMW M 1000 RR weighs 192 kg. The lithium-ion battery, however dense, takes its toll. On open roads or occasional track days with loose times, this weight is manageable. In intensive use on a short and technical circuit, it requires an adapted riding style, more fluid, less aggressive on direction changes.
The announced top speed of 260 km/h places the Ego Corsa in the category of serious sportbikes, not toys. It targets a public of enthusiasts, probably already owners of thermal motorcycles, curious about the electric experience without wanting to sacrifice the level of equipment. This is not a motorcycle for beginners on the track, the weight and the immediate engine response require prior experience. It is a motorcycle for an enlightened track rider, attentive to technological developments, and who accepts the constraints of autonomy in exchange for a radically different riding experience.
Energica has built with the Ego Corsa a demonstration of what electric can offer when not trying to imitate the thermal motorcycle but to exploit its own rules. The relative silence, the total availability of torque, the absence of gears to manage: it's another way of reading a circuit. Not better, not worse, simply different. For those seeking this difference with a level of equipment worthy of an Italian superbike, the Ego Corsa is a coherent and accomplished answer.
