Overview
60,000 euros for a motorcycle. Take a moment and let that number sink in. That's the price of a premium sedan, a nice apartment in the provinces on a year's mortgage, or a Ducati Diavel V4 dressed in Bentley colors. Bologna and Crewe have decided to combine their expertise to produce an object that clearly no longer targets the average rider. We're in the realm of ostentatious luxury here, where the entry ticket serves as much for riding as for asserting status. And yet, beneath the bodywork, the 1158 cc V4 Granturismo rumbles with its 168 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 125.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This is no living room ornament. It's a machine capable of hitting 250 km/h, built on an aluminum monocoque frame and slowed by radially mounted Brembo Stylema calipers on 330 mm discs. The Diavel V4, in its standard version, is already a muscular and technically accomplished roadster. This Bentley edition adds a layer of prestige that catapults it into another pricing galaxy.

The aesthetic work rests on a dialogue between the designers of Borgo Panigale and those of Crewe, with the Bentley Batur as a source of inspiration. The "Scarab Green" shade, a deep emerald green, immediately sets the tone. The wheels replicate the exact design of those on the English coupé. The air intakes incorporate a grille reminiscent of the Bentley matrix. The mudguard, the fairing, the tank seen from above: everything has been redesigned to evoke the hood lines of the Batur. The seat cowl, meanwhile, draws from the rear extractor of the coupé. You can find the approach excessive or fascinating, but the visual result is cohesive. Every detail tells the same story. The Alcantara seat, with its red stitching and embroidered Bentley logo, pushes the attention to refinement so far as to reproduce the design of the car's seats. The omnipresent carbon fiber trim and reworked exhaust outlets complete a package that exudes artisanal craftsmanship.
The series is limited to 500 units, delivered in a dedicated wooden crate, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, a passenger seat, and a protective cover. A numbered plate is fitted to the right flank of the V4, and the 5-inch TFT screen greets the rider with an exclusive animation. For those who might find these 500 units still too common, Ducati has planned 50 additional examples dubbed "Mulliner," reserved for Bentley owners. Expect to pay 75,000 euros for this version, which opens the door to extensive customization: choice of main color, wheel color, seat, calipers, and carbon parts. You can even match your motorcycle to your car. A themed Arai helmet and leather jacket are also offered to complete the picture.
Let's be honest: this Diavel V4 for Bentley is aimed neither at the touring rider who devours miles nor at the track enthusiast chasing lap times. It targets an audience of collectors and lovers of rare objects, able to sign a check without flinching to own a piece that combines Italian engineering and British luxury. After the collaborations with Lamborghini on the 1260 Diavel and the Streetfighter V4, Ducati continues to tap into the Volkswagen Group's portfolio to elevate its brand. The strategy is crystal clear. The risk is drifting ever further from the motorcyclist — the one who rides out of passion, not ostentation. At 236 kg wet, with its seat height at 790 mm and its 20-liter tank, the Diavel remains a rideable motorcycle, usable on a daily basis. But at that price, how many owners will actually dare take it out in the rain?
